MACAU – Business Session and Tour

Buffet breakfast at Venetian Resort.

Today will start with a half day business session at the Venetian Resort.

Following lunch, the group will depart for a tour of the latest and greatest casinos to be built.  With innovative design and architecture, Macau can be likened to a mini Las Vegas.  The restaurants and bars have taken hospitality in Macau to a new level.  With modern themes and cuisine, the casinos have raised the level to incorporate a truly first class international standard.

From a tourism perspective, Macau, the oldest European settlement in China, was established by the Portuguese between 1554 and 1557 and has been governed by them until the recent ‘handover’ back to China in December 1999.  Located at the mouth of the Pearl River Delta, Macau is one of the most dynamic regions of China.

Truly a beautiful city, your tour will take in the cultural history combined with the new and exciting Casinos along the original strip of Macau to see the old casinos
along with New Casinos due to open in 2008 and 2009.

MACAU to HONG KONG and CITY TOUR

Buffet breakfast at The Venetian.  After breakfast this morning the group will check out of the Venetian and travel by coach to the Macau Ferry Terminal where you will cross over to Hong Kong on the Turbojet Express Ferry – this is a one hour journey.  Upon arrival in Hong Kong the group luggage will be transferred directly to your home for the next three days – The Langham Place Hotel in Mongkok.  The group will commence a private sightseeing tour of Hong Kong directly from Shun Tak Ferry Terminal

Langham Place Hotel, Mongkok, Hong Kong is a refreshingly elegant and luxurious five-star hotel located in bustling Mongkok, where the best markets in town can be found.  The Langham is an Art Gallery masquerading as a hotel with stunning original artworks from local and international artists.  Rising 42 stories above Hong Kong with 665 oversized rooms and suites, the hotel boasts the latest in technology with wireless internet access throughout, and a revolutionary telephone system presenting in-room mobile phone allowing guests to stay connected to a wealth of information throughout the hotel.

Your tour commences by heading straight from the Ferry Terminal to Kowloon, past Aberdeen to Repulse Bay, located south of Stanley, famous for its long, broad beach, its clean water, fresh sand, calm tide and gentle waves, and its popularity with locals and visitors, especially in summer. It was named after a pirate ship that used to sail here in the 19th century. Following on from Repulse bay, drive the winding road to Stanley which has recently been developed into a trendy bar and dining area along the waters edge.  Better known for its Market, a scheduled stop of around 1 hour will allow time to find a few bargains.  Many of the stalls sell factory overstocks and “seconds” of many well known brands.

This evening, the group will transfer to Café Deco, set atop Victoria Peak.  Towering over the Hong Kong Island side, the view is spectacular and is only rivalled by the stunning cuisine.  Dine on a buffet of fresh seafood, carved sirloin of beef, selection of sushi and Japanese delicacies, international and Asian dishes and a dessert selection which will delight those with a sweet tooth!  Coaches will drop those who wish to party on at Joe Bananas in the Wan Chai district of the island.

Saturday  7th June 2008
HONG KONG – Sha Tin Race Meeting

Buffet breakfast at Langham Place Hotel.

After breakfast this morning the touring party will visit one of the world’s famous race tracks – Sha Tin.   At midday transfer via private air conditioned coach to the
Sha Tin racetrack where a buffet lunch inclusive of unlimited wine, beer, soft drinks and juice will be served in the private box located in the members enclosure where you will enjoy a birds eye view of the track.   All of the group will be given a welcome pack with racing program.  First Race is at 1:00pm.

Nowhere in the world is horse racing so important or appreciated as it is in Hong Kong. The fans of racing in Hong Kong are inspirational. Horse racing here reaches excitement levels of football (soccer) in Europe, or baseball in the United States. Crowds pack the stands at both Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses where average attendance is approx. 46,000 per race card. At Sha Tin, betting pools routinely reach into the hundreds of millions of dollars.

At the conclusion of the race day you will return to the Langham Place Hotel where you have a free evening to dine at one of the many wonderful restaurants both Kowloon and Hong Kong Island have to offer.  This could be done in the form of a dine-around where we book 20 people at selected restaurants, your group will be asked to register their intent to dine and upon check in we would give them dine-around money – say HK$1200 per couple or HK$600 per single.  Dine at trendy new restaurants or traditional Chinese featuring exotic local dishes – the choice will be yours!
